Saxony-Anhalt Elections 2026
Also available in: Deutsch
This visualization lets you explore the results of the 2026 Landtag election at four levels of detail — federal state, regions, electoral districts, and municipalities — and compare first and second votes, gains and losses, and key voting statistics. Pan and zoom the map to navigate; the crosshair in the center shows the selected area.
How to use
- Navigate — Pan and zoom the map. The crosshair always shows the currently selected region. Use the scale bar at the bottom right to jump between administrative levels.
- Arms — Two arms radiate from the crosshair, each showing a different statistic. Drag the handles in the menu to assign a plot to each arm.
- Search — Type a region name in the search box to navigate directly to any municipality, district, or the state level.
- Sort — Use the Ranked / Fixed toggle below the menu to switch between sorting bars by size or keeping them in a fixed party order.
Plots
- 1st Vote — Share of direct candidate votes (Erststimme) per party.
- 1st Vote ± — Change in first vote share compared to the previous election.
- 2nd Vote — Share of party list votes (Zweitstimme) per party.
- 2nd Vote ± — Change in second vote share compared to the previous election.
- Statistics — Five indicators: voter turnout, share of invalid votes, ticket-split rate, and winner margin for first and second votes.
Parties
The visualization shows results for CDU, AfD, SPD, Die Grünen, FDP, Die Linke, BSW, and Freie Wähler. All other parties are not shown individually.
