Map of Sweden with a three-part radial chart comparing national, regional and municipal party results in the 2026 election

Sweden Elections 2026

Also available in: Svenska

On September 13, 2026, Sweden held elections for the national parliament (Riksdag), its 21 regional councils, and all 290 municipal councils. This visualization lets you explore how people voted at all three levels at once, compare the results between levels, and see how they've shifted since the 2022 election.

Note: These are preliminary results. The data will be updated as soon as the raw data of all three levels (national, regional, municipal) is published.

How to use

  • Navigate — Pan and zoom the map. The crosshair at the center shows the currently selected area. Use the scale bar at the bottom to switch between County, Municipalities, and Municipality view, or zoom all the way out for Sweden as a whole.
  • Search — Type a region name in the search box to jump directly to any county or municipality.
  • Compare with 2022 — Click the arrow between the year labels to split each bar into this election's and 2022's results.
  • Compare levels — Drag the handle outward to reveal how the national, regional, and municipal results differ from each other.

Plots

  • National Vote — Party vote shares in the Riksdag election.
  • Region — Party vote shares in the regional council election (not held on Gotland, which has no separate regional assembly).
  • Municipality — Party vote shares in the municipal council election.
  • National vs Regional / Regional vs Municipal / Municipal vs National — revealed by dragging the handle: shows, per party, which level it does better or worse in.

Parties

The visualization shows results for the parties represented in the outgoing Riksdag: M, S, SD, C, V, KD, L, and MP. All other parties, including local lists that can win large shares in individual municipalities, are grouped as "Others" (Övriga).
