VisQuill Lens
Anyone — individuals and organisations — may use VisQuill Lens and publish exported viewers at no cost, provided the "Made with VisQuill" attribution link remains visible in all exported output. No sign-up required.
To remove the attribution link — for example when embedding in a client deliverable or a branded product — a commercial licence is required. Contact us to discuss.
The evaluation version of the Power BI custom visual is provided for trial purposes only. It may not be used in production deployments without a commercial licence.
Formal terms — VisQuill Lens
1. Grant of licence
Subject to the terms of this licence, VisQuill ("Licensor") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to use VisQuill Lens (the "Software") and to publish visualizations and exported viewer files produced by the Software ("Output").
2. Free use with attribution
Use of the Software and publication of Output is permitted free of charge provided that:
- The "Made with VisQuill" attribution link, as rendered by the Software, remains visible and unmodified in all Output; and
- The Software is used as provided, without modification to its source code or compiled assets.
3. White-label licence
Removal or concealment of the attribution link, modification of the Software, or use of the Software in a context where the attribution link is not displayed requires a separate written commercial licence agreement with the Licensor. Please contact [email protected].
4. Evaluation version
Evaluation versions of the Software are provided solely for the purpose of assessing the Software prior to purchase. Evaluation versions may not be used in production environments, deployed to end users, or included in any commercial or non-commercial product without a valid licence.
5. Restrictions
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Software or any substantial portion of it as a standalone product or service;
- Modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software;
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, attribution links, or labels within the Software or Output, whether visible to end users or embedded in the underlying file (including SVG markup or metadata);
- Use the Software in any manner that violates applicable law.
6. Ownership
The Software remains the exclusive property of VisQuill. This licence does not transfer any ownership rights. Output produced by the Software using your own data remains your property, subject to the attribution requirements above.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Licensor does not warrant that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the Software.
VisQuill GDK
The GDK is free for personal, educational, open-source, and research projects. A small "VisQuill.com" label rendered by the GDK must remain visible and may not be removed.
Commercial licensing will be announced alongside the stable release. In the meantime, contact [email protected] with any questions.
All code in VisQuill Lab is MIT licensed and free for any use, including commercial projects, without restriction.
Formal terms — VisQuill GDK
1. Grant of licence
Subject to the terms of this licence, VisQuill ("Licensor") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide licence to use the VisQuill GDK (the "GDK") for non-commercial purposes only.
2. Permitted non-commercial use
Non-commercial use includes personal projects, academic research, educational purposes, and open-source projects that do not generate revenue. Use of the GDK is permitted provided that:
- The "VisQuill.com" label rendered by the GDK remains visible and unmodified in all output; and
- The GDK is not used, directly or indirectly, in a commercial product or service without a separate commercial licence.
3. Commercial use
Any use of the GDK in a commercial context — including but not limited to use in a paid product, SaaS service, or client deliverable — requires a separate written commercial licence agreement. Commercial licences will be available upon the stable release of the GDK. Contact [email protected] for enquiries.
4. VisQuill Lab
Code available in VisQuill Lab is separately licensed under the MIT Licence and may be used freely for any purpose, commercial or otherwise, subject to the MIT Licence terms.
5. Restrictions
You may not:
- Use the GDK for commercial purposes without a valid commercial licence;
- Remove, obscure, or alter the "VisQuill.com" attribution label, whether visible to end users or embedded in the underlying output (including SVG markup or metadata);
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the GDK as a standalone product or service;
- Use the GDK in any manner that violates applicable law.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The GDK is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The Licensor does not warrant that the GDK will be error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the GDK.
